Television is a fast moving and highly competitive marketplace, where freelance contracts last weeks rather than years, and networking is essential to securing that crucial next job. Our next RTS Futures event offers the essential tools for survival, to help you develop a successful and rewarding career in television. From advice on how to approach the right people, writing the perfect CV, killer interview techniques, 'dos' and don'ts' on the job, and learning how to cope with your finances...we're bringing together some of the industry's top experts to show you how to become a formidable freelancer.

The event is a mix of Q&A, with group sessions and the opportunity to quiz some of the best production talent in the business:

Dawn Beresford (Creative Executive, CPL) will be offering top tips about networking

Caroline Carter (Talent Executive, BBC London Factual & Current Affairs) will interrogate the perfect CV

Martin Conway (Series Producer, First Dates, Twenty Twenty) will analyse about how to prepare for interviews

Kathryn Taylor (Series Producer, Who Do You Think You Are, Wall to Wall) will disect what's expected on the job

Jude Winstanley (Production Manager & Director of The Unit List) will tackle managing your money, and the tricky topic of negotiating contract.
