RTS Ireland are delighted to welcome our members back for our first live event after the Summer.
Join us in RTE AR4 where John O'Regan will be giving a presentation on the iconic Reeling in the Years.
The series began in 1962, the first year of Telefís Éireann, and runs to 2019, with six seasons so far. Each half-hour programme combines the pop music soundtrack of a given year with some of the moments and memories in news, current affairs, sport and entertainment.
There are now 58 episodes covering 1962-2019. Reeling In The Years began transmission in 1999 and is one of the most successful programmes on RTE, with repeats regularly topping the ratings charts. The programme was voted ‘most popular home-produced programme ever’ in an RTE Guide poll of Ireland’s Top 100 TV programmes.
