Event Summary

In the first week of January BBC One showed The Diary of Anne Frank - a unique account of life in hiding under the Nazi terror in WorldWar II from the perspective of a teenage Jewish girl. Full of tension but at times funny and ultimately tragic, Anne Frank's diary never lets us forget the extraordinary threat that awaits Anne and her family if they are discovered. The BBC and Darlow Smithson Productions worked closely with the Anne Frank foundation to ensure complete authenticityfor the drama, and the sets are almost exact replicas of the real Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. The production team will explain how they approached the adaptation of this powerful and moving story, and put it on the screen.
