Event Summary
A special production focus on April 14th, which will tell the story of the return of one of ITV’s most celebrated documentary series – Anglia TV’s Survival.
This will be a unique chance to hear from the production team how the new series was put together, just days before you get the chance to see the first programme on ITV1 peaktime.
Survival with Ray Mears begins on Sunday April 18 - three programmes featuring the animal tracking and wilderness expert Ray Mears. He uses his unique skills and extensive wildlife knowledge to follow the leopard in Namibia, the bear in British Columbia and the wolf in Central Idaho. Underpinning each film as Ray tracks the animals, is a sub-plot focusing on the current state of each species and the threats they face:

“Filming the process of tracking is very difficult, so learning how to bring that to the screen has been a really interesting learning curve and a wonderful opportunity” says Ray Mears,
“We got incredibly close to the animals, the bears in particular, even as they were feeding. You get this up close and personal view of nature, which you don’t get when everything is shot on a long lens. “We were supported by two fantastic wildlife cameramen.I’m not sure they truly believed in the tracking to start with - but they do now! ”
Several members of the production team from Anglia TV in Norwich will show us how they filmed Ray and the wildlife he tracked.
