Content production is changing and impacted with the amazing array of high spec consumer products such as DSLR cameras & other devices for the creation. Delivery models are also being impacted by a wide range of products and applications delivered via the Internet, from iTunes, YouTube through to tablet devices like iPad & iPhone. Production companies have made good use of these consumer products in the professional world, examples are far ranging from the Tour de France to MotoGP to documentary and lifestyle programming. The linking of these to the different elements of production provides a challenge and certain benefits. Delivery today is changing and delivery formats are starting to open up from Broadcast TV, through to Web, Mobile Apps, and Podcasts. Producers are constantly looking at ways to use less expensive - but more effective - equipment to reduce costs and also they are keen to increase the user skills to cover more areas in the production. The key is to use a combination of 'consumerised' equipment where they can linked to increased skills in the production team to build high quality content on reducing commissioning costs We will be building a panel to look at these changes, Dave Cockle from Apple, Mark Bos from talkbackThames and James Venner from V2 Productions will talk through some of these technologies and how they are being applied in the production process today.
