Katie Thorogood – Commissioning Editor ITV Daytime and Factual
Katie has held this post since 2009. Previous roles include Head of Factual, Features and Formats at North One TV and Director of Programmes at Discovery UK. Katie is responsible for ITV1’s weekday morning shows and a range of series across the ITV1 and ITV digital channel schedules including Secret Dealers, The Hungry Sailors, Britain's Secret Treasures and The Big Reunion."
Georgia Brown – International Acquisitions Shine Productions
Georgia Brown is in charge of all of Shine International’s acquisitions outside of North America. Previously Georgia was commercial manager of independent drama at BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC. She has worked with over 120 independent producers in the UK and internationally to manage rights acquisitions and early investment. She has worked on BBC Worldwide-distributed programming including Sherlock, Misfits, Primeval and Mad Dogs. Georgia graduated from Bournemouth University Media School in 2004.
Jenny Strange – AP Media Zoo
Currently working as an AP for Media Zoo which makes corporate films. Her role includes coming up with new creative film ideas, writing scripts and drawing up budgets through to producing and directing her shoots and taking them through the edit. Clients have included Tesco, HSBC, Barclays, BP. Jenny starting working in TV as a runner and making her way up to a researcher. As a runner she worked on BBC's Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, 24 Hours in A&E, and One Born Every Minute. Later as a researcher she worked on daytime shows dealing with property, baking and antiques. She graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2010.
Zoe Beresford – Producer Solent Vision
Zoe is currently responsible for developing and producing non-broadcast factual content for Solent Vision which is being launched in May 2014. Previously she has worked as a researcher for Talent TV South involved in a small team arranging interviews and being the main point of contact for contributors to programmes. She has also worked as a development researcher for Cyclevox Alpine Challenge Programme designing and writing pitching documents as well as being involved in costing and budgeting. In addition she was involved in Talent TV’s Fred Dinenage: Murder Casebook where she gained experience in researching historical events and dealing with sensitive subjects and contributors. She graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2012.
Kate Beal – MD Talent South
Kate Beal is the MD of Talent TV South, part of the Talent Group PLC. After leaving ITV in 2005 she set up her own indie kmb productions which became part of the Talent Group in 2008. The company specialises in factual programming and Kate has exec produced series as wide ranging as ITV1s Vicars' Wives, to CI Networks The Krays By Fred Dinenage, to UKTVs The Flying Winemakers. Kate’s most recent productions are 3 series of Murder Casebook for CI Networks and a documentary called Tina Malone: Pregnant at 50 for Discovery. Now, Kate also works at board level for the Talent Group PLC contributing to projects such as ITV1's new teen show My Phone Genie and the feature film Outside Bet.
Chris Riley - Executive Producer and MD Topical Television
Based in Southampton, Topical Television is one of Britain's longest established independent production companies. Their award-winning team has produced around 2,000 hours of network television programming. They've been described as a 'large company masquerading as a small one' - and have been listed by Broadcast Magazine as one of the 'top ten biggest airtime providers to the BBC'. Topical has produced programmes for all the major channels and across all genres - including live OB, documentary, factual, game show and entertainment. The company pioneered the use of presented live documentary, including the award-winning daily BBC television series City Hospital, Behind Bars Live, Real Rescues Live etc. Topical is also one of the main suppliers to the BBC's flagship series The One Show, and to date have produced over 200 factual and factual entertainment films and strands for the show.
Linda Bell – Senior Producer BBC South East
Linda is series editor/executive producer of the BBC Current Affairs and Features department for the South-East, covering Kent and East Sussex. Her main responsibility involves Inside Out, a magazine format programme with a mixture of investigative journalism, current affairs and features. As well as serving the regional audience BBC SE makes half hour documentaries which get broadcast on BBC 2 & BBC 4 Linda read Music at the University of Sussex and her first job was in the BBC Light Music Department serving radios 2, 3, & 4. She then went on to work in television current affairs for the BBC, then later at ITV, Channel 4. She has also made entertainment and lifestyle programmes. Credits include Man Alive, The Big Time, That's Life, The People's Parliament, The Krypton Factor, Story World and Live at 3.
Natalie Wilkinson – Executive Producer – Athena Productions
Natalie started her career at various independent production companies, including Aardman Animations. She then joined ITV in 1997, before co-founding Athena Films in 2005. Natalie works as Creative Director and Series Producer/Director where she has made almost 100 high-quality, popular, innovative programmes for Network acquired by over 100 countries world-wide and winning 3 broadcast awards. Natalie has produced programmes in a wide range of genres, from Safari 3D (Sky and Discovery) to a series On Death Row. She specialises in wildlife, overseas and adventure filming and is currently producing the popular Channel 5 series Ben Fogle: New Lives in The Wild following people who ditch the rat-race to live in some of the remotest places on Earth.
Camilla Findlay – AP Topical TV
Camilla graduated from the Bournemouth University Producing Film and TV MA course in 2010. As part of her final piece she produced a crime documentary called "Come Die With Me" which lead to her working on several factual series such as Fred Dinenage: Murder Casebook, Damilola Taylor: Death of a 10 Year Old and BBC Real Rescues. She realised her ambition to film abroad when researching for BBC’s Meet The Izzards and she was able to achieve this as Assistant Producer for Channel 5 series Brits in Bangkok. She is currently working at Topical TV as an AP on the third series of the BBC’s Caught Red Handed.
Stephen Price – Journalist and Media Consultant
Stephen Price is a journalist, broadcaster and media consultant. From 2005-2009 he was Controller of ITV 1 Peak Time Scheduling and prior to that was Head of Planning and Scheduling for BBC1 and BBC2 Daytime. Stephen’s background is in schedule analysis and ratings analysis for the major broadcasters and he now writes a regular column about ratings analysis in Broadcast magazine.
Olwyn Silvester – Bedlam Productions
Olwyn is Director of Production at Bedlam and as such is responsible for expanding Bedlam’s output across factual, TV drama, feature film and new media. Building the business both in the UK and abroad, Olwyn is focused on attracting new talent to the company, both on and off screen. Previously Olwyn ran her own company Just Television, and was at Atlantic for 5 years where she developed several 3D projects. Olwyn began her career at the BBC.
Ian Sutherland – MD Ntegrity
Ian Sutherland has over eighteen years experience of editing major projects on both Avid and Lightworks, as well as over 30 years of handling both 16mm and 35mm film. He is the Managing Director of Ntegrity, a digital post production facility in the heart of London, which houses three Avid HD edit suites, Scenarist authoring for DVD and Blu-Ray, a HD graphics and FX workstation which includes HD After Effects and FilmFix film and audio restoration software. Recent drama clients have included The BBC, La Plante Productions for the ITV Network, ITV Studios, Granada International and Film & General for the BBC.
Jonathan Marland – Content Editor ITV Meridian
Jonathan has a long history in working for ITV in both news and programming at all levels. He is currently content editor at ITV Meridian producing nightly news programmes and also Edit Producer of the hit ITV network Martin Lewis Money Show which is about to go into it's fourth series.
