Alfred Krug from Scalable Video Systems GmbH, the engineering development company for DYVI, provides a ground-breaking presentation with his take on “IT-TV-Live”, a new framework and product for live video switching and effects, that promises to revolutionise the outside broadcast industry. Imagine an outside broadcast consisting of just cameras feeding their uncompressed real time video back to the production unit hundreds if not thousands of miles away over standard IP circuits. No expensive scanners, outside broadcast production units or large crews to accommodate, just cameras right at the heart of the action, but the production team back at the studio centre; this is now reality with IT-TV-Live. Imagine, too, several such broadcasts from sites around the world being combined as easily as if they were all at the same site, or indeed, taking place in the studio.
 
Alfred’s recent technical paper for SMPTE on IT-TV-Live came out of his direct expertise and experience in the SVS/DYVI product development team in Germany.
