Early Evening

Series 11 of Doctor Who debuts in October and has once again been made in Wales.  RTS Wales are delighted to be in conversation with one of the key players in its production and the man who oversees the show for BBC Studios.

Production Designer Arwel Wyn Jones worked on the first series of Doctor Who when it returned to screens in 2005 as well as Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures.  In more recent years he has designed Sherlock and Keeping Faith before taking the reins to create a universe for Jodie Whittaker’s thirteenth Doctor.

Simon Winstone is Head of Drama, Wales, for BBC Studios.  Having previously worked on shows such as EastEnders and also David Tennant’s first two series of Doctor Who, Simon also spent ten years with Red Planet, makers of the highly popular series, Death in Paradise.  Along with overseeing the team at Roath Lock studios, Simon is responsible for the development and production of BBC Studios’ output from Wales.  He’ll be talking about his career to date and sharing his thoughts on why Wales has become a hub for globally successful TV Drama.

The event will be Chaired by Edward Russell, Media Consultant and Brand Manager.
