In January 2011 ITV, BBC and Channel Four formed The Digital Production Partnership - a bold industry intervention with the stated intention of hastening the move to end to end digital production in broadcasting. Central to the DPP's work has been the creation of a trilogy of special reports exploring the obstacles and opportunities for digital: The Reluctant Revolution, The Bloodless Revolution, and The Creative Revolution.
In this special session Mark Harrison, Co-founder of the DPP, and the author of the Revolution reports with Mediasmiths International, explains why the reports were so necessary, what they tell us - and why The Creative Revolution asked the question no-one had dared asked before: what do creative people really think about new technology?
