On Monday 22 March, join writer Heidi Thomas and cast members Helen George, Leonie Elliott and Jenny Agutter in conversation with Erica Wagner as we look ahead to the 10th series of Call The Midwife and look back over the past nine series.
Series Synopsis
Series 10 continues to explore complex medical and personal situations on the midwifery and district nursing rounds. 1966 is a testing time for the team, but also one of enthusiasm as political discussions about women’s rights begin to come to the fore. Sister Julienne is determined to steer Nonnatus House out of its financial quandary and Trixie, who needs a professional challenge, is the perfect candidate to help.
Dr Turner is faced with an array of difficult cases including a former soldier who was involved in Nuclear test explosions and a patient who has Munchausen’s. Meanwhile, Sister Monica Joan must overcome her crisis of faith following the devastating fall at Christmas. Lucille and Cyril’s relationship goes from strength to strength but, although the Buckle’s professional life is on the rise, their personal life is tested. Sister Frances has come a long way since her first day in Poplar and realises she needs to be less unworldly if she is to have a greater understanding of the local women.
There are some interesting changes ahead in 1966 alongside celebrations as England win at the World Cup!
