Julie Etchingham - Presenter, ITV News at Ten

Join Plymouth Marjon University in an exclusive session talking with Julie Etchingham.

Julie presents for ITV News at Ten and also anchors the current affairs programme Tonight. Julie was the first woman to be named Royal Television Society Presenter of the Year in 2010, winning the award for a second time in 2016.

Her broadcasting career began while she was still at school, working voluntarily for BBC Radio Leicester. Following University at Cambridge, she joined the BBC staff as a news trainee, working in regional television news before moving on to become the presenter of Newsround in 1994.

Julie joined Sky News in 2002, where she also presented editions of Five News when Sky won the contract to produce news for Channel Five.   She moved to ITV in 2008 and began presenting and reporting for their flagship bulletin News at Ten. As well as this high profile role, Julie has presented numerous special programmes such as the EU Referendum Debate, the general election leadership debates, royal weddings and the recent funeral of his Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Last week, Julie presented for ITV from the Cop26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
