Behind the Scenes of an Arts Documentary

This case study of the arts documentary Exhibitionists: Road to the RHA will be of interest to television production students, artists and all interested in arts television. It follows artists from around Ireland creating their art works for submission to the Royal Hibernian Academy Summer Exhibition. As this is a competition not all works are selected and we see how the submissions were judged, which were selected and what happened next.

At this RTS event the documentary Director Hilary Fennell and Director of Photography Steve O'Reilly will discuss how this documentary was developed and financed, how they worked together and they will analyse a scene to explore how they crafted the documentary story.

A screening of the one-hour documentary Exhibitionists: Road to the RHA at 7pm will be followed by a short presentation and discussion.

Hilary Fenell, Director and Steve O'Reilly, DoP
