Amy Garcia is celebrating 10 years anchoring BBC’s Look North.
Having started her career in children’s television, Amy returned to education and completed an MA in journalism before joining BBC Look North in 2009 as a broadcast journalist. She has since held various roles at the BBC including a brief sojourn at BBC South Today. She took her place on the red sofa as Harry Gration’s co-anchor in 2013. Over ten years, she has reported on some turbulent times in Yorkshire, often providing a local voice on national stories.
Join us for an evening in conversation with Amy as we explore her career highlights, the challenges she has faced and the stories that have had the biggest impact on her.
This event has been kindly supported by the University of Leeds and will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity for networking.
