Further information
Angela trained as a journalist in her home town of Plymouth and worked at both the BBC in Plymouth and Westward Television. She then joined BBC National television in 1973, to be appointed the first woman journalist newsreader in 1975.
Her professional work has mainly been centred on News and Current Affairs and her lecture will examine “Consumer Journalism”
Angela is equally at home, however, presenting programmes ranging from Top Gear, the BBC's coverage of Lady Diana Spencer and HRH Prince Charles wedding on 29 July 1981 and the BBC’s daytime show Cash in the Attic.
In 1996 the Royal Television Society recognised and honoured her extensive contribution to broadcasting by admitting her to the Hall of Fame.
This public lecture will be held at the Tremough Campus of University College Falmouth on Thursday May 13th at 1830. Tickets may be obtained from the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth
