The RTS Student Awards 2020 event 8pm, 3rd March, Studio 4, RTÉ Dublin.
The Republic of Ireland Centre organises the RTS Student Awards in the categories of: Comedy & Entertainment, Drama, Factual, Short Form and Animation with Craft Awards for Camerawork and Editing added in 2020. The award recipients from the RoI go forward for judging in the RTS finals in London. Winning any of these prestigious RTS awards can have a significant impact on the long-term career of the filmmakers. The shorter term can be significant also, within one year of its 2019 award the winning film Backwater from IADT/NFS went on to win several overall RTS awards and by the end of 2019 totalled 12 awards from international competitions including Los Angeles and Moscow.
