Entries are now open for the Royal Television Society Awards for the North East and Borders to be held on 26th February 2022 at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton.

You can make your entry through our ONLINE AWARDS PORTAL

The work of programme makers who created TV and other content in spite of the lockdowns and restrictions imposed by the pandemic is being showcased at an awards event in the North East.

The star-studded event will be staged in February and will recognise production teams who delivered news, drama, current affairs and factual programmes against the odds.

Centre chair Will Nicholson said: “It is two years since we were last able to recognise the work of creatives in this region. And it is only right that amongst the usual categories for drama, current affairs, entertainment and production excellence, we introduce awards to mark the extraordinary innovations deployed to create content during lockdowns and pandemic restrictions.”

Entries may come from any media platform and must have been either aired on TV, distributed for non-broadcast or streamed online for the first time between November 2019 and December 2021.

Entry deadline: In line with other RTS centres there is now one entry deadline which is Friday 19th November at 1700.
