Breakthrough Talent awarded to Katja Mia
RTS Republic of Ireland are pleased to announce the 2024 RTS Ireland award winners. The highly recognised awards ceremony took place this evening in Dublin’s Liberty Hall Theatre (Tuesday 19th March) with host Dermot Whelan at the helm. The ceremony honoured the outstanding achievements in Irish television programming over the past year and highlighted the many talented professionals in Ireland’s TV industry.
Katja Mia was presented with the Breakthrough Talent award by Louise Cantillon. Katja hosts The Six O’Clock Show and Uprising on Virgin Media Television and recently won the heart of the nation as a contestant on this year’s RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars. The prestigious Breakthrough Talent Award is decided by the Royal Television Society Republic of Ireland Committee, comprising of representatives from Virgin Media, TG4, Sky, RTÉ and the independent Irish television industry. This year they recognised Katja’s talent, hard work and inspiring influence and impact on Irish audiences.
On accepting her award, Katja Mia said: I am beyond thrilled to be the recipient of the 2024 Breakthrough Talent Award. It means the absolute word to me to have my achievements recognised by RTS Ireland and the industry. This is just the beginning for me, and I’m so excited for what’s next”.
