The Royal Television Society (RTS), Britain’s leading forum for television and related media, announced the winners of the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2010/2011, at a ceremony held last night in London.

The evening was hosted by ITV newsreader Mark Austin.

The RTS Television Journalism Awards celebrate creative and excellent journalism in UK news and current affairs, both by organisations broadcasting in the UK and by companies which supply UK news broadcasters.

The 2012 awards saw a host of television professionals competing in 22 categories for a coveted Royal Television Society Award. The awards recognise the huge variety of skills and processes involved in programme production, from costume design and digital effects to editing and lighting.

The RTS Craft & Design Awards 2012 were chaired by Nigel Pickard, Chief Executive Officer, Zodiak M.E.E.A and UK, Kids and Family. The awards ceremony, which was hosted by British TV presenter Laura Hamilton, took place on Monday 26 November at The Savoy, London.

Introduction

The Royal Television Society Technology Award is presented to a young television engineer. This Award was established by the RTS with funds received from the family of A.M. Beresford-Cooke, who was a distinguished engineer who contributed much to the development of British broadcasting technology through his work on towers and masts for VHF and UHF transmition.  

The annual RTS Young Technologist Award has been won by Peter Sellar, who is a member of Freesat UK Ltd. He was chosen to receive the award, which is presented in memory of A M Beresford-Cooke, by a panel of judges chaired by Terry Marsh, digital media consultant.

The Royal Television Society (RTS), Britain’s leading forum for television and related media, has announced the winners for the RTS Student Television Awards 2011. The event took place on Friday 25 May at the Barbican, London.

Nominees

The Royal Television Society (RTS), Britain’s leading forum for television and related media, today announced the winners for the RTS Programme Awards 2012. The ceremony, held at Grosvenor House on Tuesday 20 March, was hosted by actor, comedian and radio presenter Rob Brydon.

The North East & The Border Centre's Awards for 2010, were held at The Sage, Gateshead, on Saturday March 12th 2011.
