More tales of The Walking Dead, celebs live Italian and John Bishop and Hugh Bonneville go on a DNA journey.
Jamie’s £1 Wonders
Monday
Channel 4, 8.00pm
Jamie Oliver sets out to help us work culinary wonders with our cost-of-living crisis-stricken food budgets.
First up is a nifty roast chicken recipe that saves time and money by filling thighs with a simple stuffing to stretch the meat further. Plus, a savoury pancake dish with layers of spinach, ham and cheese, and a pizza that doesn't even need an oven—Oliver also bears the gas crisis in mind.
Tales of The Walking Dead
Monday
AMC, 9.00pm
When AMC cancelled The Walking Dead last year, the channel also announced this new spin-off anthology that would keep the drama coming, the dead walking, and maybe introduce some new viewers to the over 300 episodes-strong franchise with a less daunting prospect. Most of the tales require very little prior knowledge.
The first sounds like a post-apocalyptic romcom. Terry Crews' reclusive doomsday prepper, Joe, teams up with his polar opposite in Olivia Munn's Evie in an attempt to find their lost loved ones.
DNA Journey
Tuesday
ITV, 9.00pm
A chance encounter in a Covid vaccine centre saw Downtown Abbey star Hugh Bonneville and comedian John Bishop strike up an unlikely friendship.
Now an episode of DNA Journey promises to cement that friendship as they hit the road to explore their family history together. What they don't know is that they are about to discover family ties in their ancestral past.
Live Italian
Friday
Prime Video
On TV it seems like everyone's going to Italy these days. Maybe it was Stanley Tucci, who had everyone drooling with jealousy in Searching for Italy, or Tanya in The White Lotus living out her Monica Vitti-esque Italian Dream. Or... James May (Our Man in Italy)?
Whoever it was, Prime Video is now sending a few more celebs to the land of good food, good wine and good weather, but this time they'll be put to work in Italian jobs. First up is comedian Jack Whitehall, who's made to cook in Tuscany. Later episodes will see Maya Jama explore the country's music and Lawrence Dallaglio accept some sporting challenges.
