Monday

I’ve Got Something to Tell You

W, 9pm

This new reality show features ordinary people having intimate discussions with friends and loved ones, with some confessing their biggest secrets and others making important announcements. These discussions take place in a special tearoom, where presenter Amanda Holden watches the exchanges from the sidelines.

This week, a couple who lost their son in a motorbike accident are the recipients of a message that will change their lives.

 

Tuesday

Westworld

Sky Atlantic, 9pm

This dark 10-part series is inspired by Michael Crichton’s 1970s film of the same name, set in a Wild West-themed amusement park, where guests come to shoot human-like androids for fun.

Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood (True Blood) star a pair of the droids who are so realistic they don’t know they’re not real; James Marsden (30 Rock) plays a guest who takes a shine to a woman he sees in Westworld; and Anthony Hopkins stars as the control-freak creator of the virtual town.

 

Wednesday

A World without Down’s Syndrome

BBC2, 9pm

This documentary sees actor and writer Sally Phillips, whose son has Down’s Syndrome, question the ethics of proposals to pre-screen pregnant women for Down’s.

Sally ask whether the national testing is necessary, and speaks to medical experts and people with Down’s to explore the implications of choosing which kind of person we want to bring into the world.

 

Thursday

The Apprentice

BBC1, 9pm

The smash-hit business competition The Apprentice returns for a twelfth series this Thursday. This week, the new batch of hubristic contestants are taken to a storage unit filled with assorted items. They must spot the hidden treasures before selling their items for the highest price possible.

 

Friday

The Last Leg

Channel 4, 10pm

The Last Leg lads are back from Rio and they’ve brought a host of Paralympic stars with them to kick of the show’s ninth series. In addition to the usual satirical look over the past week’s news, guests Jonnie Peacock, Ellie Simmonds, and Clare Balding revel in Britain’s success at the games.

 

Saturday

A Very British Murder

BBC2, 8pm

Historian Dr Lucy Worsley chronicles our national obsession with heinous murders.

Lucy will use archive sources to deconstruct some of our nation’s most notorious crimes and demonstrate how they are products of the historical and social climates in which they took place.

She also looks back over grisly press reports, puppet shows and famous novels, to show how British murders became a source of national entertainment.

 

Sunday

Ross Kemp Extreme World: Syria

Sky1, 9pm

In the final instalment of this series, the former Eastenders actor travels to a war-torn country that is barely out of the headlines: Syria. Kemp meets the Kurdish fighters who are trying to defeat ISIS, getting caught in sniper fire in the process.
