UKTV has announced a slate high-profile new shows including Amanda Holden’s I’ve Got Something to Tell You and a new David Attenborough documentary series.

The shows were announced at the channel’s annual showcase at the BFI, where Holden and Attenborough were joined by Lily Cole, Steve Coogan and Greg Davies.

Entertainment channel W adds I’ve Got Something To Tell You, to its autumn schedule - a brand-new six-part part series presented by Amanda Holden and produced by Zig Zag Productions.

Filmed in an English country retreat, the series features ordinary people sharing confessions and announcements to loved ones over tea and cake.

Watching from the sidelines, Amanda offers support as people bare their souls. The stories in each episode range from the tear-jerking to the hilarious as people announce: “I’m gay,” “I’ve given up my addiction” and “Will you marry me?”

Dave will host a brand new fantasy comedy from Baby Cow Productions, starring James Buckley (The Inbetweeners), Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones) and Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary).

Zapped sees online marketing assistant Brain Weaver transported to a parallel universe populated by deranged creatures. The programme, executive produced by Steve Coogan, follows Brian as he tries to adapt to this new world and find out whether he has a higher purpose for being there.

Also returning to Dave are popular shows Dave Gorman Modern Life is GoodishTaskmaster and the Red Dwarf XI reunion series.

A new series of the critically-acclaimed David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities returns to Eden. The programme, which has been sold to 40 countries around the world, combines scientific discovery with analysis of animal behaviour as it documents animals with extraordinary traits and abilities.

The new series will explore giant pandas and kiwis, who both make motherhood a challenge, and dung beetles and pigeons, who both have an astonishing ability to find their way home.

Comedy channel Gold will air a new series of UKTV original scripted comedy Marley’s Ghosts, once again starring Sarah Alexander (Jonathan Creek) as Marley and John Hannah, Jo Joyner and Nicholas as her three deceased companions.

This series will see Marley struggle with her ghosts, the occupants of her new neighbourhood, and with finding love – which the two male ghosts, Adam and Michael, are determined to prevent.

“It feels great to be celebrating all the fantastic new shows we’ve been making with the guests here at BFI today. UKTV is investing heavily in great new programming and we have such riches here to show for it,” said UKTV CEO Darren Childs.
