Entry now open for the 2015 RTS Scotland Awards

It is my pleasure to announce that the 2015 RTS Scotland Awards are now open.

This will be our 3rd Awards and we are looking forward to celebrating with you the many brilliant programmes that have been made, and the incredible talent working in the industry in Scotland.

I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know about a few changes we’ve made this year – all in the name of progress of course!

We’ve been developing the Award categories and are delighted to announce 3 new ones for this year:  Best Documentary and Specialist Factual History Programme; Television Director of the Year and On Screen Personality of the Year. In addition, the Best Animation category has become Best Animation and VFX.  Details of the Categories and Criteria can be downloaded below.

We’ve introduced a 50% refund for programmes that are entered for a Best Programme award and are also entered into one or more craft categories, 13 a, b, c and d.  So for example, if you enter a programme for Best Drama you can enter for, say, Best Camera, and will receive a refund of half the usual category entry fee. So when you’re thinking about entering programmes, consider the craft skills that make it exceptional and let’s celebrate all aspects of your team’s work.

We’ll be using an online system this year for entries which we hope will make the whole process easier.  Go to https://awardsentry.rts.org.uk/entrant/ to create your account and enter the RTS Scotland awards.

If you have any queries regarding the criteria or categories please email me at scotlandchairofjudges@rts.org.uk

For any technical support contact awards@rts.org.uk or call 0207 822 2820

For any general enquires contact RTSScotland@rts.org.uk

Finally, we’re returning to the Oran Mor for the Awards ceremony in May 2016 – with an improved ticketing and access system - more details of which will follow.

The entry deadline is Friday 12th February.  I’ve no doubt there’s a bumper crop of amazing programmes out there so let’s get together and celebrate all that talent.  There’s no bushel to hide your light under – get those fabulous entries in as soon as possible, the juries will be waiting!

Yours sincerely,

April Chamberlain
