Paradise has been renewed for a second series, Disney+ has confirmed.
The drama follows Agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as he investigates the murder of President Cal Bradford (James Marsden, Sonic the Hedgehog 3).
Far from a conventional whodunnit, Paradise takes place in a post-apocalyptic underground bunker, where artificial lights create the appearance of daylight for a worryingly small population.
Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County) also appears as Samantha Redmond, who financed the construction of the underground city, which is built inside a mountain.
Sarah Shahi (Red, White & Royal Blue) plays psychotherapist Gabriela Torabi and Nicole Brydon Bloom (The Gilded Age) Secret Service Agent Jane Driscoll. Aliyah Mastin (Honey Girls) and Percy Daggs IV (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) round out the cast as Xavier’s children, Presley and James.
The creator is Dan Fogelman, who is also known for executive producing Only Murders in the Building and creating This Is Us.
Series one, which is streaming now on Disney+, will air its finale on Tuesday 4 March.
