Nadiya Hussain will lead two new cookery shows for BBC One and BBC Two.

Nadiya’s American Melting Pot

The former winner of The Great British Bake Off will travel to North America for her two-part documentary series Nadiya’s American Melting Pot.

Travelling to two of North America’s most diverse vibrant hubs, California and Louisiana, she hopes to discover how generations of immigrant communities have cultivated and adapted American cuisine.

Nadiya’s American Melting Pot will see Nadiya meeting families who keep their homeland traditions alive through food. By helping out in family businesses and immersing herself with the locals, she attempts to get to grips with different food cultures.

From the San Francisco to Los Angeles, Nadiya will be meeting people who are passionate about bringing their Asian, Latin and Middle Eastern food culture to America.

Nadiya Hussain commented: “I love meeting people who are as passionate as I am about sharing the food of their homelands. I learnt so much about the amazing ways that cultures mix in America to create exciting twists on delicious local delicacies.

She added: “I can’t wait to share my American adventure!”

Nadiya Bakes

In this six-part series, Nadiya will return to her most ardent passion: showcasing her favourite homemade cakes and bakes.

From choux pastry to biscuits, each episode of Nadiya Bakes will see Nadiya explore a different delicious recipe, providing tips and cheats along the way to simplify the process.

Visiting bakeries up and down the country, Nadiya will discover the secrets behind her favourite sweet treats, from Glaswegian churros to a Ghanaian bakery in Tottenham.

Nadiya’s baking skills will also be put into action as she helps members of the public to create spectacular bakes for their own huge celebrations.

The Commissioning Editor for Factual, Ricky Cooper, commented: “To have Nadiya baking again feels like a massive treat for viewers. I can’t wait to see what mouth-watering collection of cakes, biscuits, pies and pastries she’ll be rustling up for herself, and for the people she meets all across the UK.”
