Job Description

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will learn all aspects of finance for a charity:

• Preparing and reviewing sales invoices and receipts, including liaising with relevant departments to collect outstanding invoices
• Preparing and reviewing purchase orders, ensuring the procedures have been adhered to at all times
• Processing purchase invoices and preparing payment runs
• Weekly bank reconciliations
• Accruals, prepayments and deferred income
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly management accounts
• Annual budgets
• Forecasts
• Preparation of year end audit
• Be the first point of call for our 15 nations and regions to provide financial assistance and provide relevant up to date training on all financial procedures to them
• In addition you will learn how to provide support to all departments to enable them to make responsible financial decisions

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

• You will be enrolled as a student for ACCA (Association of Certified Accountants), studying towards their certified accountancy qualification (Level 7)
• This will be through day release to attend BPP's on-site training lessions
• After completion of the exams and receiving 3 years work experience you will be become a qualified certified accountant

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once qualified the apprentice will be able to continue to develop their career by progressing with other organisations if a suitable position is not available at the Society.
