Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster will return for a new series of the theoretical comedy show Hypothetical.

A new host of comedians will be faced with more absurd hypothetical situations and scored based on how well they would deal with the strange circumstances.

The comedians will be split into two teams and, over five rounds, will need to think on their feet to justify their approach to each of the made-up scenarios they are faced with.

Past series have seen comedians such as Jo Brand, Richard Ayoade, Joel Dommett and Suzi Ruffell take part.

Josh Widdicombe commented: “It is an absolute pleasure to be reunited with James after a year of him not returning my texts or calls. Thank you to Dave for forcing him to hang out with me again.”

Hypothetical will air on Dave and UKTV Play in 2022.
