Last year’s winners included Element Pictures, who picked up the Drama Award for Normal People, and comedian Dara Ó Briain, who received an award for Special Contribution to the industry. These awards were sponsored by Screen Ireland and by the BAI respectively.
Awards Chairperson Niall Cogley said, “We are delighted to announce our second RTS Ireland Television Awards event with wholehearted support from all of the broadcasters in the country and from the wider Irish television production industry. 2021 has been another extraordinary year but the TV community has continued to adapt and excel despite the significant logistical and economic challenges it has faced.
“After the success of last year’s inaugural event with 126 entries there is a clear appetite to celebrate the achievements and to mark some of the creative excellence that Irish audiences have enjoyed during the year”.
The closing date for entries will now be Thursday 27th January 2022.
