Emma Willis will present a new two-part special for W called Emma Willis: Special Births.

The special – produced by Firecracker Films – follows on from last years series, Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, and will show never-before-seen footage of last year’s births at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Willis meets both the babies and their parents six months after the initial filming and discovers how life has changed for them since leaving the maternity ward.

Willis will sit and watch the birth of the baby with the families before reflecting on the life changing moment, from heart thumping emergencies to laugh out loud blunders.

UKTV commissioning editor Helen Nightingale said: “Emma is so passionate about her role as a Maternity Care Assistant and it’s wonderful to see her re-visit families to see how childbirth has changed their lives since leaving the hospital.

“I’m sure there’ll be some lovely revelations and will be truly heart-warming telly.”

Sam Emmery, head of documentaries for Firecracker Films, commented: “The series will give W viewers a unique opportunity to see a whole new set of birth stories and will showcase the amazing work the maternity staff at the Princess Alexandra Hospital carry out on a daily basis.”

Emma Willis: Special Births, is part of a new line-up of UKTV originals airing on W in 2020.
