Discovery will launch a second free-to-air TV channel with brand new entertainment on 15 March.

Quest Red will target a predominantly female audience and explore real life stories through entertainment, investigative crime stories and thought provoking documentaries.

Quest Red will accompany Discovery’s first free-to-air factual entertainment TV channel, Quest, and will launch on Freeview, YouView, BT TV, Talk Talk, Sky and Virgin Media.

The channel will premiere UK programmes, including Martin Kemp’s Detective, looking at some of the UK’s most puzzling murders, Jo Frost: Nanny on Tour, following the supernanny to America, and Is OJ Innocent? The Missing Evidence from executive producer Martin Sheen.

Clare Laycock, VP, Head of Channels at Discovery Networks UK and Ireland, said: “Quest Red has got real life covered. Bright, welcoming and straight talking, Quest Red is ‘the home of irresistibly real TV’ and brings something entirely new to free-to-air television for a female skewing audience.”

Laycock added: “With a vibrant fusion of fascinating stories, captivating lifestyles and compelling crime, we’re really excited to launch a new real life entertainment channel tailor-made for audiences who love great TV.”
