RTS Bristol awarded Colin Thomas with a Special Award on 7th May at The Watershed, at an event exploring his life work, 'Reel Rebel', during the Bristol Festival of Ideas.

The award was presented to Colin by David Sproxton, co-founder of Aardman and the citation was as follows:

The RTS Bristol centre is delighted to be able to honour Colin's long and distinguished career as a documentary maker whose work has never failed to provoke- and challenge- the way we see and understand the world. His commitment to the genre and his unstinting pursuit of the truth inspired a future generation of fine documentarians in the city, and beyond, and it continues to inspire documentary makers of tomorrow..
