For two weeks the celebs will give up the comforts of their showbiz lives, say goodbye to their family and friends and make a remote, uninhabited island their home.

Armed with nothing but the clothes on their back, some basic tools medical supplies, and the minimum of fresh water, they will be fighting for their very survival.

The celebrities who will be taking on the elements for Stand Up To Cancer are JLS singer Aston Merrygold, Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke, comedian and writer Dom Joly, The Hotel’s Mark Jenkins, model and rugby star Thom Evans, Channel 4’s Dr Dawn Harper, Labour councillor and media personality Karen Danczuk, comedian Josie Long, TOWIE’s Lydia Bright and former Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon.

The Island with Bear Grylls is the ultimate battle for survival and, just because they’re famous, the stars won’t be getting any special treatment as they will have to deal with everything that the island throws their way.

Stand Up To Cancer is a joint national campaign by Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK designed to raise money for research into new cancer treatments.

The series will air in October as part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

If you think you're touch enough to take in Bear Grylls, the survival expert has developed a series of challenges to test you and raise some money for charity. Find out more at standuptocancer.org.uk
