The midwives of Poplar will return for another two series of the RTS award-winning BBC One drama Call The Midwife.

With series ten premiering on Sunday 18 April and series 11 soon to start filming, Call The Midwife will now be on air until 2024.

Series 12 and 13 will consist of eight 60 minute episodes and two Christmas specials.

Creator, Writer and Executive Producer, Heidi Thomas, said: “It’s an incredible privilege to be able to look back on a decade of Call The Midwife, and yet know that our journey is still very far from over.

“Like Nonnatus House itself, we have a proud past but an even more exciting future - full of old favourites, fresh faces, higher hemlines, new ideas. The stories we tell are like babies - they never stop coming, we love them all, and we vow to do our best by every single one.”

Call The Midwife returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 18 April at 8pm.

Our 10 year anniversary retrospective of Call the Midwife with Heidi Thomas and cast members Helen George, Leonie Elliott and Jenny Agutter, is available to watch in full below.
