Actress Bronagh Waugh, star of the recent series of Unforgotten on ITV will host this year's Royal Television Society (RTS) NI Programme Awards, sponsored by Ka-Boom at The MAC in Belfast on Thursday 15th November, 2018.

Born in Coleraine, Bronagh is an outstanding, talented and versatile actress with strong credits across film and television. She is perhaps best known for her ‘heart wrenching’ performance of Sally-Ann Spector in BBC2’s The Fall alongside her on-screen serial killer husband played by Jamie Dornan.

Most recently, Bronagh won praise for her feature lead role opposite Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar in the BAFTA Award Winning ITV hit crime drama Unforgotten playing grief-stricken twin Jessica Reid. Later in the year Bronagh will be co-staring with BAFTA winner Andrew Scott in feature length crime thriller Steel Country which is due for US & UK release this Winter.

Bronagh started her TV career in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as well as an appearance in Holby City. Her recent film roles include family blockbuster A Christmas Star in which she played one of the lead roles alongside Suranne Jones, Pierce Brosnan, Liam Neeson and Robert James-Collier.

Bronagh said: “I’m really looking forward to coming home to host this year’s RTS NI Programme Awards. It is great to see the Northern Ireland film and television industry thriving over recent years. It promises to be a great night’s celebration of content and talent across all genres.”

The RTS NI has partnered with BBC Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen, Channel 4 and UTV along with headline sponsor Ka-Boom for these prestigious awards. Judging in each category will be carried out independently by an experienced internal jury with winners being announced at the special awards ceremony at The Mac, Belfast on Thursday 15th November.

Kieran Doherty, Chair of RTS NI said: “We are delighted that Bronagh is returning to Northern Ireland to host our Awards, Bronagh is a highly experienced and talented actress and the ideal choice for helping the RTS highlight the incredible talent available in Northern Ireland.

“The judges are currently viewing this year’s entries and have a very difficult task ahead of them, we look forward to announcing this year’s short-list in October.”

Tickets for this year’s Awards will be available online once the nominations for this year’s Awards are announced in October.
