BBC Two has announced Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing will have a fourth series.

The series sees the two comedians and close friends Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse head into the beautiful British countryside and attempt to catch fish while chatting about everything from childhood memories to show business.

With both having suffered from complex heart disease, the pair take to the peaceful rivers of Britain and cook heart-friendly meals in their chosen camping locations.

Paul is an experienced fisherman, while Bob is more of a novice. As the famous saying goes, teach a man to fish and you can create a beloved, long-running TV series.

Paul Whitehouse commented: “The fish of the UK needn’t worry too much as Bob and I return for another series of Gone Fishing.

“I love Bob and he needs me more than ever so we’re back on the river bank for more high jinks and another series basking in the timeless wonder of the glorious British countryside.”

Bob Mortimer added: “I love doing this show and am over the moon to get the chance to go fishing with Paul again. I am already working on heart healthy recipes to cook and new ways to irritate him.”

All episodes of Mortimer & Whitehouse are currently available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
