The BBC will release all six episodes of The Living And The Dead on iPlayer, ahead of its BBC One schedule
Jumping on the binge-watching trend, the broadcaster will make the costume drama available as a box set on Friday, two weeks before its premiere on linear television.
The BBC previously released the smash hit comedy Peter Kay's Car Share on iPlayer ahead of its terrestrial transmission, but this is the first time it has done this with a drama.
The Living And The Dead is a mythological horror story set in 19th Century Somerset. Based around the life of a Victorian psychologist and his wife the show stars Merlin's Colin Morgan and Charlotte Spencer, the voice of Angelina Ballerina.
