Armando Iannucci is one of Britain's most influential and innovative figures in television comedy. However, his first success came on Radio 4, when he assembled a team including Steve Coogan, Chris Morris and Rebecca Front to make news spoof On The Hour. The show soon transferred to the television, continuing its sharp parody of news casting under the title The Day Today.
Since then Iannucci has brought us a continuous stream of comedy gold. From Alan Partridge's Norwich-bound musings to Malcolm Tucker's fantastically fruity language, Iannucci is behind some of Britain's best-loved characters. As we get excited for his appearance at our RTS Early Evening Event, we took a look at some of his biggest laughs.
