Simon Hui named the RTS Young Technologist of the Year 2021

Simon Hui, Graduate Technical Engineer at Timeline TV, was chosen to receive the prestigious award by a panel of expert industry judges, which was chaired by Digital Media Consultant, Terry Marsh.

Working at broadcast technology and services company Timeline for almost two years, Simon has gained extensive experience focused primarily on remote production and the exploration of new technologies.

Entries open for RTS Craft & Design Awards 2021

The awards are now open and accepting entries from today until Wednesday 1 September 2021.

Ade Rawcliffe, Group Director of Diversity and Inclusion at ITV has come on board to Chair this year’s Craft & Design Awards, which will announce the winners in November. Welcoming entries from both broadcasters and individual crafts people, the awards celebrate excellence in broadcast television and aim to recognise the huge variety of skills and processes involved in programme making.

Nominations announced for the RTS Student Television Awards 2021

The awards take a new format this year as a short form content competition, and 17 UK institutions have received nominations across the competitive categories.

The winners will be crowned at a virtual awards ceremony on Friday 25 June at 2pm, streamed live via the RTS website and hosted by broadcast presenter and award-winning radio host, Vick Hope.

Submissions for 2021 RTS Awards for the West of England and Devon and Cornwall open

 This region produces some of the best TV, film and animation content in the world and our annual awards are the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our extraordinary talents. Our judges will be looking for the very best, of the best content production across all genres from news and scripted to documentary and children’s.

 

Nominations for the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2020 announced

The BBC leads the way with 46 nominations across its channels, with BBC One and HBO’s hit shows, His Dark Materials receiving four and I May Destroy You garnering three nominations respectively. Sky follows the BBC with 10 nominations with Gangs of London, Brassic and Catherine the Great all shortlisted.

The prestigious awards will be celebrated on Monday 23rd November on the RTS website with special guest appearances.

RTS Television Journalism Awards 2021 open for entries

The RTS is seeking submissions that highlight the outstanding reporting that has taken place in this unique and turbulent year. 

The awards, for both news and current affairs, seek to recognise creative and excellent journalism by organisations whose broadcasts are transmitted on a UK based platform or who create online video content from a UK production base.
