Just over a year on from when the BBC One documentary The Bradford Aunties aired we are delighted to be joined the Aunties, Tahera, Rubina and Ghazala along some of the cast and crew from Clockwork Films.

This engaging and insightful documentary followed this trio of Bradford women as they embarked on their mission to ensure their language, food, music and values were handed to the next generation.

Aunties Tahera, Rubina and Ghazala believe passionately in the preservation of their culture for their communities' young people. Rolling up their sleeves, the aunties embarked on the biggest challenge of their lives – a unique and bespoke community project looking to bring the young and old of Bradford together culminating in a big coach trip to Blackpool at the end of the project!

Exploring community, tradition, love and friendship, this warm, compelling and ultimately moving documentary – with unprecedented access to the UK’s south Asian community – followed the Aunties as they pulled out all  the stops for their all-singing, all-dancing coach trip

We look forward to hearing more about how the documentary came about and what the impact has been since it aired.

This events is organised in partnership with Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture and Clockwork Films.
