Doorbell Detectives
Monday
BBC One, 2.00pm
With a Ring doorbell, anyone can be a detective.
Presenter Matt Allwright, best known for his work on Watchdog, is now turning his focus to the next-generation of crime-catching technology.
Broadcasting from the Incident Room in Manchester, Allwright will delve into real-life cases where footage from Ring doorbells helped crack serious crimes – and hear from the sofa sleuths who made it happen.
What it Feels Like for a Girl
Tuesday
BBC Three, 9.00pm
Adapted from Journalist and presenter Paris Lees’ memoir of the same name, What it Feels Like for a Girl tells the story of a teenage boy leaving the mining town he grew up in, and becoming a girl in the bright shiny LGBTQIA+ underbelly of Nottingham.
Ellis Howard (Help) will play Lees’ TV counterpart Bryon, whilst Laquarn Lewis (Jamie Johnson) will be Lady Die, the leader of Nottingham’s gay scene who will take Bryon under her wing.
Ginny and Georgia
Thursday
Netflix
Ginny and Georgia made headlines with its first series, with meme-able moments like an unforgettable serenade featuring a snapchat dog filter, and the infamous ‘oppression Olympics’ argument between Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and her first boyfriend Hunter (Mason Temple).
Unfortunately, these moments have overcast some of the more important aspects of the show: Georgia (Brianne Howey), a single young mother, choosing her daughter over all else and escaping an abusive relationship; the portrayal of Ginny’s self-harm and the therapy she experiences; and the murder mystery-esque plot as Georgia’s past catches up with her.
Celebrity Gogglebox
Friday
Channel 4, 9.00pm
The line up for 2025’s Celebrity Gogglebox has not yet been released, which leaves the pairings up for speculation.
With last series featuring Tom Beckett and Tom Allen, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash, and Gok Wan and Fearne Cotton, series seven could feature any of your favourite celebs.
The Gold
Sunday
BBC One, 9.00pm
The BBC digs deep in a dramatization of one of the UK‘s biggest heists – the Brink's-Mat robbery.
With £26,000,000 of gold bullion stolen, the race is on to get it back and DCI Boyce (Hugh Bonneville, Paddington), DI Jennings (Charlotte Spencer, The Living and the Dead) and DI Brightwell (Emun Elliott, Paradox) are the unlikely team tasked with its recovery.
At the end of series one the team captured and convicted some of the criminals involved – but this came with the shocking realisation that they were only ever on the track of half of the Gold.
To find out more about series two of The Gold, watch our Q+A with writer Neil Forsyth and cast members Hugh Bonneville, Tom Cullen and Charlotte Spencer.
