Julian Fellowes’ 19th Century New York drama returns for another series, ITV brings Jordan Gray’s screenwriting debut, and BBC iPlayer brings the festival season straight to your living room.

The Gilded Age

Julian Fellowes’ American answer to Downton Abbey returns for a third series, fittingly with a cast of all-American legends. Among the star-studded ensemble is Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon, Big Bang Theory’s Christine Baranski and American Horror Story’s Taissa Farmiga.

In series three, Farmiga’s character, Gladys Russell, finally breaks free from her mother’s (Carrie Coon, The Leftovers) control after two seasons of being dominated by her. Torn between the match her mother insists on and her true love, the series teaser shows Gladys packing her bags and preparing to run away.

Monday, 9.00pm on Sky Atlantic

Transaction

Comedian Jordan Gray stars in her debut comedy as Liv, a trans woman starting a new job on the supermarket nightshift. Nick Frost, who’s recently been cast as Hagrid in HBO’s Harry Potter remake, will star as Liv’s boss, who she soon discovers hired her to make amends for his recent missteps with the LGBTQIA+ community.

While being a diversity hire isn’t usually the dream, Liv quickly realises it gives her the freedom to act however she wants - without the risk of getting fired.

Tuesday, 10.00pm on ITV2

Glastonbury

Whether you lost the ticket battle or weren’t keen on camping, you can still experience Glastonbury from the comfort of your own home.

With confirmed headliners like The 1975, Alanis Morissette, Olivia Rodrigo, and Charli XCX, Glastonbury still has plenty of slots open for surprises. Some performance times are still unannounced, including a mysterious new act called “Patchwork” set to play on Saturday. Could this be a repeat of 2023, when the Foo Fighters appeared incognito as The ChurnUps?

From Wednesday on BBC iPlayer

The Kim Kardashian Diamond Heist

Almost a decade ago, Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint of millions of pounds worth of jewellery in what turned out to be one of the highest profile robberies this side of the 2010s. This BBC Three documentary traces the story from that night in Paris, all the way up to May 2025, when Kardashian faced her attackers in court.

Wednesday, 9.00pm on BBC Three

Squid Game

If you spent lockdown doing anything other than binge-watching Netflix or scrolling through social media, you might have missed Squid Game. But if you even glanced at TikTok in 2021, your feed was probably flooded with dalgona candy challenges and that massive creepy doll.

Now, the final chapter has arrived. Fans have seen the main character, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae, Sandglass), evolve from Player 456 - a man willing to do anything to provide for his daughter (and his gambling habit) - into a leader determined to take down the very games that made him rich.
