Sky has unveiled its largest ever slate of programmes for 2020, with 80 Sky original titles set to air this year.

The broadcaster has released trailers for four of its upcoming original British series, including two new comedy series, the return of Save Me and a new series from Lucy Prebble and Billie Piper.

Breeders

Starring Martin Freeman (A Confession) as Paul and Daisy Haggard (Back to Life) as Ally, Breeders explores the parental paradox that no one wants to admit; ‘you would die for your children, but quite often you also want to kill them’.

The comedy series follows the couple through tempestuous times as they attempt to balance parenting two young children, caring for elderly parents and keeping up with mortgage payments alongside full-time careers.

Simon Blackwell, writer of Four Lions, serves as showrunner for the ten-part series that was co-created alongside Chris Addison (The Thick of It) and Freeman.

Breeders will premiere on 12th March on Sky One.

Save Me Too

Lennie James’ RTS-Award winning drama Save Me returns for to Sky for a second series, Save Me Too.

From the producers of Line of Duty, Save Me Too will see James reprise his role as Nelly Rowe, the estranged father who found another child, Grace (Olive Gray), in the search for his own missing daughter Jody.

Lesley Manville (Mum) joins the new series as Jennifer Charles, a woman pressured into making a difficult decision that will cause a rupture between Nelly and Grace.

Suranne Jones (Gentleman Jack) returns as Jody’s mother Claire, while Stephen Graham (The Virtues) will also reprise his role as Nelly’s troubled friend Melon.

Save Me Too will air on 1st April on Sky Atlantic.

Two Weeks To Live

Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) leads this dark comedy series Two Weeks To Live as Kim Noakes, a twenty-one year old girl who witnessed the brutal murder of her father fifteen years ago.

Having lived an isolated existence in the Scottish wilderness, Kim is ready to escape her overbearing mum Tina, played by Sian Clifford (Fleabag), and head south to track down her father’s killer.

Yet Kim finds that the outside world isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When she meets a pair of hapless brothers, Nicky (Mawaan Rizwan) and Dave (Taheen Modak), a drunken prank gone wrong leads to the trio being hunted by murderous criminals (Jason Flemyng and Thalissa Teixeira).

Kim finds that despite her quest to escape, she must reunite with her controlling mother if they have any chance of survival.

Two Weeks To Live will air on Sky One later this year.

I Hate Suzie

Succession writer Lucy Prebble pens this new drama series starring Billie Piper (Doctor Who) as a celebrity named Suzie Pickles. When Suzie’s phone is hacked, photos are uncovered of her in an extremely compromising position.

The series tracks Suzie’s journey in the wake of the hacking scandal; through shock, denial, fear, shame, bargaining, guilt, anger and finally, acceptance.

With the help of her best friend and manager Naomi (Leila Farzad), Suzie must try to keep her life, career and marriage to Cob (Daniel Ings) intact.

I Hate Suzie will be shown on Sky Atlantic later this year.
