Fans of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton book series are on tenterhooks waiting for Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) to meet his love interest, Sophie at the opening masquerade ball. After announcing in July of 2024 that Benedict would be taking centre stage in series four - with Yerin Ha (Halo) debuting as Sophie - fans have been in a drought for content of the two lead actors. But good things come in threes: Netflix has now released not one, but two sneak peeks of series four - along with the exciting news that the series has been renewed for both a fifth and sixth series.

Each Bridgerton series follows a different Bridgerton sibling, and each comes with its own trope. Series one followed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page) in a ‘fake-dating’ romance that turned real. Series two was an enemies to lovers story between Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Series three explored a friends to lovers dynamic with Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Series four will bring a Cinderella-style romance as Benedict Bridgerton falls for Sophie, the daughter of an earl who has been relegated to the role of a servant by her evil stepmother.

Unfortunately, Netflix has now officially announced that fans will have to wait until 2026 to see their story unfold – however this does come with the news that Bridgerton has been commissioned for a fifth and a sixth series.
