Prime Video has released a trailer and confirmed the release date for new action thriller The Assassin, starring Keeley Hawes (Miss Austen) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor).
In the trailer, Julie (Hawes) is trying to move on from her past as a hitwoman. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to forgive and forget, and soon there are people after her. Julie is forced to go on the run across Europe with her son Edward (Highmore).
The two swap a picturesque Greek island for a life as fugitives, as they fight for survival. Their relationship was never exactly great, but with a conspiracy and the identity of Edward’s father looming large, this will strain them like never before.
Joining Hawes and Highmore are Gina Gershon (Riverdale), Shalom Brune-Franklin (Baby Reindeer) and Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean). Alan Dale (Lost), Gerald Kyd (The Swarm), Devon Terrell (Totally Completely Fine), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones) and David Dencik (No Time To Die) also appear.
The six-part drama was written and created by Harry and Jack Williams, known for their other thrillers The Tourist and Boat Story.
The Assassin will be available on Prime Video from 25 July.
