ITV has released first-look images for Transaction, the new sitcom from comedian Jordan Gray (Friday Night Live).
After a marketing campaign backfires spectacularly, supermarket boss Simon (Nick Frost, Shaun of the Dead) finds himself in hot water with the LGBTQ+ community. To try and prove that he’s really inclusive, honest, he hires Liv (Gray), a transgender woman who ticks the diversity box, but not much else. Despite a non-existent work ethic, it’s pretty much impossible for Liv to get the sack, encouraging her to wreak havoc on the supermarket night shift.
Rounding out the cast are Doon Mackichan (Two Doors Down), Thomas Gray (A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder), Kayla Meikle (Mickey 17) and Francesca Mills (Boat Story).
The show began life as a 2020 miniseries of six five-minute episodes on Comedy Central’s YouTube channel. The ITV series, though, will feature brand new storylines.
The new six-part Transaction will air weekly on ITV2 from Tuesday 24 June, when it will also be available in full on ITVX.
