Channel 4 reveals who will play ‘The Deceased’ and ‘The Executor’ in The Inheritance, a brand-new format from the creators of The Traitors.
For those who are brought into this world without a long-lost rich aunt, Channel 4 has a show to level the playing field. The Inheritance provides players with someone to inherit from, aptly referred to as 'the Deceased.' Not only is this long-lost relative fabulously wealthy, she’s also portrayed by the impossibly glamorous British icon, Elizabeth Hurley.
Winning the inheritance won’t be easy - The Deceased left behind a series of complex challenges for her 13 beneficiaries, a set of games overseen by The Executor, played (of course) by expert legal mind Robert Rinder MBE.
At the end of each challenge - within which the team will have had to work collaboratively - only one member can take home the cash, and it’s down to them to persuade their teammates they deserve it.
Described by ITV as “camp, cut-throat and completely gripping”, The Inheritance makes contestants rely on charm and cunning to win their newfound wealth.
Elizabeth Hurley says: “It’s a thrill to be part of this clever game, playing The Deceased; it all takes place on her huge estate in the English countryside and she dresses to the nines in every scene. Tune in this Autumn to catch The Inheritance on Channel 4.”
Rob Rinder adds: “This is a high-stakes strategy game served with a side of scheming and sabotage. As The Executor I enforce the rules, keep the chaos in check - more or less - and make sure our players are deserving of every glittering penny left by our dearly departed deceased, played by the iconic Elizabeth Hurley.”
The Inheritance will air on Channel 4 in the Autumn of 2025.
