Bridget Christie (The Change) will join the cast for the second series of BBC comedy Things You Should Have Done, for which filming has begun in Ramsgate.

The show follows Chi (Lucia Keskin), a ‘stay-at-home daughter’ who suddenly has to deal with the adult responsibilities she’s spent her life avoiding when her parents die. Her mum and dad, all too aware of their child’s reluctance to engage with the real world, left her a list of ‘Things You Should Have Done’.

In series two, Chi’s remaining family come into contact with an unhinged grief counsellor, Ruth (Christie).

“I’ve always wanted to play a bisexual therapist in a Lucia Keskin TV show that films near the sea,” said Christie. “Living the dream folks. Living the dream.”

Instead of helping the family, Ruth gets involved in the family’s antics, making the streets of Ramsgate far less safe (and much sillier). Elsewhere, Lucas (Jamie Bisping, Piglets) is trying to grow up, which naturally makes Chi furious, and Dave (Daniel Fearn, The Death of Stalin) is single and not particularly ready to mingle. Not that that’s going to stop him.

The series won the Scripted Comedy category at the RTS Programme Awards 2025, where judges commended it as “a piece which felt fresh, distinctive and very funny”.
