Channel 4 has revealed the contestants for series 20 of Taskmaster.
Comedians Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Reece Shearsmith, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Phil Ellis will be the latest batch of people to be tormented (sorry, challenged) by Greg Davies.
You’ve seen Magliano on Live on the Apollo and Adam on Mock the Week and A League Of Their Own. Meanwhile, Phil Ellis’s 2023 show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Phil Ellis’s Excellent Comedy Show, won the prestigious Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality.
Sanjeev Bhaskar is known for acting in sketch show Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42. He also appeared in Paddington 2 and Paddington in Peru.
Reece Shearsmith is best known for his work with Steve Pemberton (who took part in the 17th series of Taskmaster in 2024). As part of a comedy troupe of the same name with Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson, they created The League of Gentleman. More recently, Shearsmith and Pemberton co-created comedy-cum-fever-dream Inside No. 9.
Having toured the country and stolen the show in The Inbetweeners as Mr. Gilbert, Greg Davies is widely regarded as one of the finest comedians of his generation. Alex Horne will also be there.
(Okay, Alex Horne may have also devised the Taskmaster format and made it the international success it is today, but don’t tell him we said that.)
Series 20 of Taskmaster will air later in 2025.
