It’s a week packed with competition – Alan Carr is on the hunt for the finest interior designer, Claudia Winkleman is seeking the top pianist, and Big Brother is looking to create a hostile working environment for a brand-new set of celebs.

Celebrity Big Brother

Monday

ITV1, 9.00pm

Big Brother welcomed his first celebrity guests to the ITV house last year, and now he’s ready to put a whole new set of famous faces through their paces.

This series’ cast is full of wild cards, from Conservative MPs to Hollywood stars, to… JoJo Siwa. The ex-Dance Moms kid and popstar is arguably the biggest draw. Whether her ever-changing fashion sense and viral interviews are a savvy marketing strategy or just her personality remains a mystery – but Big Brother is sure to get to the bottom of it.

Interior Design Masters

Thursday

BBC One, 8.00pm

Alan Carr and Michelle Ogundehin welcome a new set of budding interior designers to the ultimate design boot camp. With Ogundehin’s guidance the contestants will travel across the UK, making over different spaces for real clients and learning how to design effectively, often on a budget.

Only one designer will be crowned the winner and receive their first major commercial client. This year there’s even more on the line, as the winner will get to create their very own homeware collection for John Lewis.

Black Mirror

Thursday

Netflix

Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror returns – this time with a first for the anthology series: a sequel. Fans of the series four standout USS Callister will be glad to know the spaceship will be flying back onto our screens, with Nanette Cole (Cristin Milioti, Palm Springs) leading the ship as captain.

The series comes with a wealth of high-tech gadgets and warnings. Being able to step into photographs, be a character in your favourite movie, or get a second chance at life all sound well and good, but Brooker’s sure to tell you why they’re not.

Doctor Who

Saturday

BBC One, 6.50pm

Ncuti Gatwa returns as the doctor, for Russell T Davies’s second series back as a writer after a decade-long break. Companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) will be joined by Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu, Andor), although it’s unclear whether they will both be companions, or whether Ruby will pass the baton to Belinda.

Belinda will have her work cut out, as the Doctor is now in the midst of a full-blown reality war where nothing on Earth is as it seems.

The Piano

Sunday

Channel 4, 9.00pm

Claudia Winkelman isn't all Traitors and fringes: she's also trying to find the best amateur pianists the UK has to offer.

Oscar-winning musician Jon Batiste will join Winkleman and Mika for series three. Batiste is known for composing the score of Disney's Soul, so it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two about the impact of music. Travelling across Britain’s train stations, the judges and Winkleman will get to experience these new musical talents alongside an audience of commuters.
